- Castillo del Morro, a stunning fortress guarding the entrance to Havana Bay. It was built to stop the English pirate Sir Francis Drake.
- La Cabana is a fortress located on the eastern side of Havana Bay, being in the same time the most impressive building remained from the colonial times.
- Malecon is an avenue along the northern shore of Havana, stretching from Habana Vieja to Almendares River and forming the southern boundary of Old Havana.
- Great Theater of Havana is famous for the "National Ballet of Cuba"; sometimes it hosts performances of the "National Opera" as well.
- Necropolis Cristobal Colon is a cemetery and open air museum (actually it is the most famous cemetery in Latin America).
- the Botanical Garden hosts many Caribbean plant species, particularly from Cuba. It contains also a Japanese garden, with fountains and waterfalls.
- the National Aquarium is a unique vacation attraction, displaying samples of the island's marine flora and fauna.
- Christ of Havana is a statue of Christ blessing the city, located on the other side of the bay, very similar to the more famous "Cristo Redentor" from Rio de Janeiro. Carved from marble, it was erected in 1958 on a platform and is today a good place to watch the old part of Havana and the harbor.
