Cuba, with its beautiful simplicity, is a tropical heaven and an exotic travel destination. Christopher Columbus called it Juana, but Cuba was originally called "Cubanascnan". Spanish soldier Diego Velazquez colonized the island, establishing Baracoa in the 1511. After that he established Santiago de Cuba in 1514 and Havana in 1515. The independence came in 1830 and the slavery was abolished in 1886.
Cuba is nowadays a renowned travel destination with 6700 species of plants, 14,000 species of invertebrates and 650 species of vertebrates. Beside this, it is famous for its comfortable hotels and all inclusive resorts, all of them offering excellent vacation deals and travel packages. This island has four mountain ranges, Turquino (1,974 meters) being the country's highest peak. Cuba has a warm climate all year round. Although the average temperature is around 25,5 Celsius degrees, the average relative humidity is 78%. Depending on the season, a raincoat and an umbrella may be useful too!
